Historical Description

Created in 1988 by Municipal Law No. 2,293. Previously it was Itapetinga Forest Park with coffee and charcoal plantations.

Cultural Description

An important scientific research center with participation from Unicamp, USP, and other Brazilian universities.

Natural Description

Mountainous area 900-1,300m. Home to 165 species of birds, 20 species of bats, 415 species of plants and primates.
