
Pinhalzinho was founded in 1840 by the families of João Domingues Siqueira and Generoso de Godói Bueno, its name derived from the abundance of Araucaria trees in the region. The settlement was made by Italian immigrants, among them Antônio Fornari and his sons. On February 28, 1964, Pinhalzinho was elevated to municipality status, separated from Bragança Paulista.

Take the Fernão Dias Highway (BR-381) to Bragança Paulista, then follow the Capitão Barduino Highway towards Pinhalzinho. The distance is approximately 90 km, with a travel time of 1 to 1 hour and 20 minutes.
