The Diocesan Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida at the summit has been a place of pilgrimage and popular devotion since the 19th century.

The Sanctuary Stone is a place of great religious importance, especially on October 12th when the day of Our Lady of Aparecida, patron saint of Brazil, is celebrated, with festivities and processions that attract pilgrims from various regions.

It is a high-altitude granite rock formation, located in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountainous landscape and Atlantic Forest vegetation.
