ESTAÇÃO FERROVIÁRIA DE VARGEM

Vargem station was built as the terminus of the Bragantina Railway (a branch line from Bragança that extended to Vargem in 1913-14), part of the important coffee transport network in the 19th century. It represents the culminating point of the Bragantina railway line.

The station represents an important cultural legacy from the period of Brazilian economic transition during the coffee cycle. Protected as a listed property by CONDEPHAAT, the railway structure preserves the living memory of the golden age of the Brazilian railway and the social development of the interior of São Paulo state.

Located in the center of Vargem, the station is nestled within the landscape of the Paraíba Valley, an area of great historical and natural importance, characterized by mountains and farms that shaped regional development during the coffee boom.
